For the girls’ 4th birthday, we celebrated poolside with a pink and green sea turtle beach club theme.  During our family beach trip, the girls spotted a baby sea turtle and watched his LONGGG voyage from the nest to the ocean.  The fun experience and a desire for a pool party quickly decided their preppy birthday theme! Once home from the beach, we whipped up their invites and celebrated a week and a half later.  It was very fast party planning, but the girls really enjoyed it!  To be just four years old, they are the best shoppers, which made searching for all their pink and green party goodies all the more fun!

The dessert table was set up on the clubhouse balcony, overlooking our neighborhood pool and lake.  With the help of some wonderful vendors, the party was simple and sweet, but most importantly, a really fun time for the girls!  I designed the invitations and paper decor, and then sought the help of some great talent…

The adorable cookies were custom designed by Sweet Goosie Girl to perfectly match our preppy pink and green sea turtle theme.  Be sure and visit Terri for your next cookie purchase!!  Her creations are not only adorable, but so delicious!

The turtle cupcakes and cake were created by a local baker, Creations Bakery.   The owner, Jamie, is so kind and wonderful to work with!  You name it, she can bake it!  Thank you Creations for our sea turtle sweets!

A very big thank you goes to Stacy Mize Photography for sharing her time and talent!  Stacy photographed Eliza’s big day, formerly Princess P. Photography, and was back again for more fun.  What a pleasure to work with!  See more of Stacy’s work at stacymizephotography.com.

The polka dot napkins were a dollar find at Walmart!  The printable napkin wraps will be available in the shop with the sea turtle party collection.  Pink and green polka dots, lattice and greek key patterns were used on the paper decor throughout.

“Lil Turtle Lunches” were made for all our party friends.  Each sand castle pail was filled with a starfish sandwich, green apple and some goldfish “Turtle Treats”.  The sand castle pails were found at Party City.

Thank you to Fun Paper Straws  for our pink and green straws!  What is it about paper straws?  I just love them!!

The girls’ initals were made of patterned card stock, cut into the letter shape and lined with green yarn.  Thank you Anders Ruff for the inspiration!  My desire was to make the girls the focus of the party table versus our cake or a traditional centerpiece.  By using their initals and pictures, I think we did just that!

The girls’ favorite turtle backpacks made a party appearance as well.

Favor Boutique by Angelique created the pink and green soap favors, which were a big hit with my little ones!  Yes, these adorable sea turtles were handmade soaps!  Isn’t that a fun favor and practical too?  Thank you Angelique for sharing your talent with us!

The pink and green party balloons were kindly supplied by Party Depot.  Nancy, the sweetest owner, carries my favorite polka dot balloons along with paper plates, napkins and LOTS of your needed party goods!

Our sea turtle theme invited our friends to “Slow Down and Celebrate” and that is exactly what we did!  We enjoyed sweet treats and some wonderful catering thanks to The City Bistro.  The City Bistro is another fabulous vendor in dowtown Cumming that helped make our day so great!

Beautiful weather, dear friends and family…..it was the most perfect night to celebrate our precious girls as the summer came to an end! Happy Birthday, Anna Claire!  Happy Birthday, Julia!  We love you so much!!

A VERY BIG thanks to all our fabulous contributors!!

I’m so excited to share with you Eliza’s very first birthday party! I chose this pink and navy nautical theme after deciding that we wanted to have her party on the lake in our neighborhood. With a lakeside setting, preppy nautical seemed to be the perfect fit! Miss E also has two pink and navy outfits that were among my favorites on her so it was settled… a preppy pink and navy nautical celebration! The weather was perfect and it was a beautiful evening to spend with some dear friends. Now getting there, that is another story! It was one of those days where more seemed to go unplanned than planned. And I am quite the planner!! However, thanks to my wonderful hubbie, parents and some fabulous vendors, Eliza’s celebration came together just as I hoped for her very special day! My baby is ONE!
The wonderful pictures are courtesy of Princess P. Photography. Wow, Stacy was way more than a photographer! She took pictures, assisted, took pictures, assembled, took pictures, taped, and took more pictures on top of that! What a blessing! You can see lots more of Stacy’s fabulous work at princesspphotography.com. Thank you, Stacy, for giving of your time and services!!
The table on the lawn was set for our little party friends. Since my sewing expertise are zero, my mom made the navy table cloth. I found the best bargain on fabric, add a coupon and we made the table cloth for $3! I designed the place mats, napkin wraps, stickers and flag straws to coordinate with our nautical theme. All items will be available for purchase in the shop very soon. The table and white chairs were kindly offered by It’s My Party in Alpharetta. It’s My Party is your full party rental for bounce houses, tents, popcorn machines and all kinds of adorable items for your big events. Last year, I showed up to a party rental company and my table and chairs were not there. Our party quickly turned into a picnic! It’s My Party had our order on the sidewalk and ready to load instantly. Wonderful!
It was so much fun to design the invitations for Eliza. The invites are always my very favorite part! I lined the navy envelopes with a pink stripe paper and sealed them with a coordinating return address sticker. I’ll have to get some pictures and a tutorial for you. So easy and waaayyy less expensive than purchasing lined envelopes. It’s those silly little details that I get excited about!
We set up the party table inside the gazebo and filled it with the talents of so many! The cake…. oh I loved the cake! A big thanks to Jamie and Creations Bakery in Cumming for designing exactly what I had in mind! Creations is not only a bakery, but it is full of baking supplies and party items. They also host parties where the birthday child can decorate cakes with their friends. Isn’t that a fun party idea! For the children, I made “sailor sandwiches” and popped them in these way cute pink lunch bags to make a peanut butter sandwich feel a little more fun. The bags are from Party Depot in Cumming. This store is 5 minutes from our house and I just now discovered it! Wow, what a find and sooo reasonably priced! Party Depot has a great supply of party goods, balloons and one very sweet owner. Thank you, Nancy, for your adorable pink polka dot and navy balloons!

So many customers ask me about water bottle wraps and how I make them. Super simple! Print them on regular paper, cut and use a bit of glue stick to adhere to the bottle. Sometimes, I add a small piece of clear tape in the back. They fit any standard size water bottle, but the shape of Kroger brand water bottles seem to work extra well for me. Chill them in the fridge before the party and lay them out just before your guests arrive. You can use a sticker label if you’d like, but I find the paper wraps to be much easier to work with. The wraps will also be available for purchase with the preppy nautical collection soon.
More cuteness arrived on my doorstep courtesy of Sweet Goosie Girl. How adorable are these anchor cookies?! Terri, the creative hands behind Sweet Goose Girl, really has some talent! If you can dream it, she can make it! The packaging in itself was really amazing to be sure her delights arrived safely. On top of cuteness, they were delicious. I fully admit to eating one within minutes of their arrival. I have a serious sweet tooth! Thank you, Sweet Goosie Girl!

I filled a dollar bin Target pail with “Life Preservers” aka Lifesavers. The individual containers were pretzel goldfish that I labeled as “Catch of the Day”. The cute containers were one of my fun finds. We were eating lunch at Atlanta Bread & Co. and those perfect little containers were served with the kid’s meal. It never hurts to ask! I offered to purchase some and the kind manager gave me as many as I needed. Love it!
And the cuteness continues! Claudia the Cupcake Lady whipped up these perfectly coordinating fondant toppers! I really need to learn to bake, but thank goodness for friendly talent! Claudia sent her way cute toppers along with a sailboat topper for Eliza’s smash cake. All of her products are available for purchase in her etsy shop, including my very favorite nautical goodies! Thank you, Claudia, for your attention to detail!

I used the coordinating navy paper for some DIY popcorn cones and labeled them “Popcorn for the Shrimps” with the nautical collection menu tents. We put together some mini yogurt parfaits topped with blueberries as a healthy snack for the kiddos. The individual parfait cups were found at Party City and I can’t wait to use them again!

The navy and pink striped paper straws were graciously sent by Fun Paper Straws. Talk about fast service! I contacted Fun Paper Straws about being one of our contributors and the straws were in the mail within hours!! I designed some coordinating straw flags and voila! Thank you, Gary, for your incredible customer service!

I created a slideshow for my big girls on their first birthday, but since we were outside I had to settle for a few of my favorite pictures.  Anna Claire and Julia LOVE watching their “picture movie” so it is still on my list to create for Miss E.  As our friends left, we sent them home with a goody bag of personalized notes along with their hand-built sailboat.  The favor bags along with tons of adorable party products can be found at Shop Sweet Lulu.  Super cute shop!

I wish I had pictures of the girls building their sailboats.  I thought it would be a fun activity for both the boys and girls and it turned out that only one of our little guy friends was able to come.  So we had lots of little girls with hammers and nails, building sailboats.  It was really cute!  My dad cut all the wood pieces and my mom made the sails.  Below is one snapshot of my own as they set sail in the lake.  My Anna Claire is in the pink shirt, Julia is in the navy and Eliza was watching in the background. The sailboats are available for purchase. My dad has continued to build them for lots of Preppy Nautical parties!

It has been an incredible year that has just flown by.  We are so thankful for our Eliza and loved every minute of celebrating her. I leave you with a few sweet shots from Eliza’s one year photo shoot.  Photos by Katie Davidson Photography and the balloons are from Party Depot.

Happy Birthday, Eliza Brooks Allen!  You are so very loved!

I gave a little peek last week, but here a few more fun details from the Mod Giraffe Baby Shower Collection. Thank you Holly Kittle Photography! Nothing like being the photographer of your own shower! This gray and yellow collection was inspired by some great prints… that turned into a fun dessert table… You can create your cake bunting with a pom pom maker or better yet, purchase one from the designer herself at Jill Made This! Jill is one crafty gal! She created the most perfect touch to a classic all white cake. If you are in the Chattanooga area, this delicious cake came from Piece-A- Cake in Collegedale.Coordinating napkin rings, food tents and water bottle wraps are all available with the Mod Giraffe Collection. Love the gray and white striped straws and the adorable G was a paper mache letter wrapped, wrapped and wrapped in yarn!!
Old fashion lemon candies were given as favors to match the gray and yellow theme. Each guest wrote a note of advice on coordinating flat notes to the momma-to-be!
And how cute was this gift?! Monogrammed onesies and burp cloths to match for Miss Evie Claire and Mr. Graham. Congrats to my dear friend Holly! She is now the proud momma to a sweet baby boy and precious little girl. Welcome Evie Claire and Graham! We are so glad you are here!

We had the sweetest time celebrating the girls’ 3rd birthday!  This summer, my hubbie took the girls on their first trip to the ice cream shoppe and it has been a prized date with daddy ever since.  So I decided we would create our own backyard parlor and the girls loved every minute of it!  What a special time of celebrating our sweet girls with dear friends and family!!
Thanks to a very handy Gramps, the girls had an adorable ice cream stand waiting for them in the backyard the morning of their birthday.
The applique ice cream shirts were ordered from Gigi Babies and I just loved them! The ruffled edges made them extra girly compared to the regular tee. Christy, the shop owner, was so wonderful to work with and is already making some Disney shirts for our upcoming vacation!  Be sure to visit her adorable shop HERE!
I just love pennant banners for that classic ice cream parlor setting.  With 50s music playing, soda jerk hats and striped paper straws, we had some retro fun!

Once ice cream was served, we gave each kiddo a soda jerk hat from The Varsity.  For the non-Atlanta friends, The Varsity is the world’s largest drive-in diner and has been open since 1928!  It’s a classic Atlanta spot for diner burgers, frosted oranges and “What’ll ya have?”

One of the girls’ birthday presents was the wooden ice cream set from Melissa and Doug.  I bought it at Michaels with a 40% coupon and got it much cheaper than paying shipping prices.  They LOVE it and have been serving up ice cream cones for the last 2 weeks!
Sugar cones and the cutest mini cake cones were found at Walmart.  I ordered the polka dot cups, striped cupcake liners and wooden spoons from Shop Sweet Lulu.  A great online shop for paper straws, balloons, favor bags and so much more!
The ice cream parlor printable collection is available for purchase, but hasn’t made it into my esty shop just yet.  If you are having an ice cream party soon, simply email your requests for a listing.
Another sweet customer and new friend offered her ice cream glasses for the party.  I have a bazillion paper straws left over from another shower so I was glad to use them!
Fun red diner baskets that I found on clearance at Joann for a quarter!
Printable water bottle wraps from the Parlor Party Collection.
My dad has the sweet tooth in our family so I had some Red Vine licorice and cherry sours just for him!  It’s possible I had a few too! ;)

IBC root beers, glass cokes and ice cream were on sale several times this summer at Publix and Kroger so it I grabbed them when I could save a few pennies! :)

I used the diner paper dishes for sandwiches and snacks.  The sweet manager at The Varsity gave me a whole stack after our last lunch visit.  Never hurts to sweetly ask!  The individual portions look cute and are great for kids!
This may have been the most enjoyable part of the party…. teaching 3 year olds how to run a relay race.  I laminated the individual parts of an ice cream cone, added velcro to the back of each piece and hung felt squares along the fence.  With a basket at the other end, the kids assembled their ice cream cone by running back and forth to add each piece.  Their sweet giggles to play such a fun “new” game were priceless!!
After a sugar filled morning, I thought it only fitting to send our toddlers  home with toothbrushes! Another friend and customer used the same favor for her daughter’s sweet shoppe party and I just loved it!  With peppermints for the parents, everyone went home happy.  The favor sign is also available as a printable with the parlor printable collection.
And one more fun idea that I spotted in my party planning…
As each guest left, I took pictures to create a party album for the girls.  They LOVE looking at pictures of their family and friends.  I have also started pre-school with them this week so it will be a fun way for us to practice letters as well!
Each guest held the blank card that I designed and I then digitally added their name.
All fun must come to an end eventually. The girls had the best time celebrating their special day!  We have pulled the ice cream parlor into the backyard several times since to re-stage our party fun once again.  My sweet Julia always has a hard time saying goodbye.  At least Anna Claire leaves you with a grin! :)  What a FUN day!
Happy Birthday, Anna Claire!  Happy Birthday, Julia!  I love you dearly and am so proud to be your momma!  You are my favorite 3 year olds in the whole wide world!! I will always love celebrating you! Can’t wait to party again next year!  Until then, stop growing up so fast!!  All my love!!

> I was honored to help host a bridal shower for my sweet friend Lisa this weekend! She has found her prince and is getting married the end of August!! Lisa is the most beautiful brunette bride and I wanted a charming party collection to fit her elegance and character just perfectly.
The Damask Bride Collection can also be customized to fit your honored bride just perfectly! Ask for different hair or skin colors if you’d like!! :)

My battery died by the end of the shower so Lisa and I didn’t get a picture on my camera. I started looking through all my 9,000 pictures and found one of us still in our single days! :) What a beautiful friend you are and gorgeous bride you will be, Lisa! I am sooo happy for you, sweet friend!

Notice the tub of sand used to hold the fruit kabobs. Great idea!
